Our mission is to strengthen American philanthropy by removing the friction that keeps American donors from supporting the domestic and international causes they care about — and to give recipient organizations a trusted, fully compliant US partner.
The problem we solve. Many of the most effective charitable organizations in the world are based outside the United States. American donors who want to support them can't claim a US tax deduction without going through a qualified intermediary. America Gives is that intermediary.
How we work. We accept donations from US individuals, companies, foundations, and donor advised funds, then make grants to vetted recipient charities in the U.S. and abroad — applying the same expenditure-responsibility and equivalency-determination standards required by US law.
Independent stewardship. Every grant decision is made by our board, in line with our charitable purposes, IRS rules, and donor recommendations. Donors retain advisory rights; legal control rests with America Gives.
We believe geography shouldn't dictate generosity. America Gives exists to ensure that American donors can give with confidence to high-impact charities worldwide — with the same legal protections, tax benefits, and transparency they expect from a US charity at home.
